The Story Behind Corner Coffee ☕️

Every great café has a story, and Corner Coffee Carndonagh is no different.

Corner Coffee was founded by Daniel Diver and Emmett Wilson, two people with a shared passion for great food, good coffee and, most importantly, creating a place where people feel welcome.

The idea behind Corner Coffee was simple: create more than just a café — create a place for the community.

Starting out as newcomers to the community, Daniel and Emmett took a leap of faith and brought their vision to Carndonagh. They wanted to build somewhere that felt warm, friendly and relaxed; somewhere you could call in for a great coffee and freshly baked treat, meet friends for breakfast or lunch, or simply sit down and enjoy a bit of company.

What started as a small café has continued to grow, with the business expanding its premises and creating more employment opportunities locally. Along the way, Corner Coffee has become increasingly involved in the community, from fundraising and local events to the Community Wellness Café, where people can come together, enjoy board games and conversation, and simply spend some time in good company.

For Daniel and Emmett, the biggest reward hasn’t just been the growth of the business. It’s been seeing Corner Coffee become part of the fabric of Carndonagh.

That feeling of community was recognised when Corner Coffee was named Eatery of the Year at the Carndonagh Business & Community Awards — an achievement that meant so much to both founders and the entire team.

Behind the food, the coffee and the busy mornings is a simple belief shared by Daniel and Emmett:

A café should be about people.

People meeting, laughing, catching up, supporting one another and making memories.

And while Corner Coffee has grown since those early days, that original idea remains at the heart of everything they do.
